Plot-wise, the wedding was a ploy to make Blair realize how shortchanged and unhappy Chuck can make her feel at times. But on its own, Dorota’s wedding to sweet, sensitive Vanya was awesome and came complete with all the Russian traditions, including a pre-wedding roast.

College is turning out to be a drag for B. No one is up for free sushi and sake, Vanessa and her documentaries are popular and Georgina is back. Weird, but it was Dan who tried helping her fit in by bringing her to the rooftop party. Blair-Dan moments are so out of the blue they are always nice.
#22 Jenny Stays a Virgin
Little J remains uncharted territory after she refuses to give up her Big V to douchebag D, who quickly dumps her afterward. What, turning her into a drug mule is not enough, Damien?

At the end of a long day/episode, Blair and Vanessa find it apt to talk about their mistakes over croissants. They schemed against each other for a measly speech, and look where it got them: V’s hippie mom is disappointed and Chuck is furious at Blair’s betrayal (broadcast via a clandestine microphone).

She is a little less fond of Serena for trying to steal her congressman, so she hand-delivers the incriminating letter to Rufus, who, after finding out that his wife was in her ex’s hotel room, pays Holland a visit. Let’s just say that Rufus was hitting two birds with one stone.
#15 Chuck’s Fake Date with Jenny
In an effort to shake Blair back to NYU reality, Chuck takes Jenny to a premiere and gets a paparazzo to take a photo of the two of them. It is a little douche-y, but he tries to justify it later by proclaiming: “Remember, I am Chuck Bass… and I love you.”
#14 Jenny is a Traitor
Beware of Little J. She will not give the phone to your boyfriend even if he is there! No, seriously, Jenny has had the hots for Nate for a few episodes now, and she takes it to the next level when she singlehandedly tries to break off Serenate by dangling Nate’s shirt on her bag and not relaying a crucial message when Serena flies off to Palm Springs.

OK, that was not shocking part. Forced to choose between married, scheming Tripp and single, nice Nate, guess who Serena chose? If you guessed Nate, you do not know Serena. But just the same: you are on your own, S.

Beware of Jenny, you all. Do not dare sit above her and her posse on the Met steps. If she could do this to one of her best friends (few of them as there are), imagine what she would do to you.

You know Chuck and Blair are a special couple when you consider the kind of games they play. They pick a beautiful girl, Chuck lures her, and just when said girl goes in for the kill, Blair shows up and gives her a serious tongue-lashing (”Take your American girl hair and your poreless skin and get out!”). Hey, whatever works right?

It is one hyped-up kiss that turns out to be a quick peck on the lips. To blackmail the NYU guy (and consequently get the speech), Blair dangles Chuck and wait for Josh Ellis to check Number 27 on the Tribeca Scavenger Hunt. But what is more surprising is that it is not the first time Chuck has kissed a dude.
#4 Dan Kisses Georgina
In total *** fashion, Dan wakes up the next day after the disastrous rooftop *** conversion party with Georgina asleep in his lap. Oh, Dan. You are supposed to be the smart one in the bunch, aren’t you?
#3 Blair tells Chuck that She Just Wants to be Happy.
After witnessing the simplicity of Vanya and Dorota’s love, Blair realizes she does not like the person she becomes when she is with Chuck. “This is the end, Chuck,” she says, before running off. As strong as the fandom is for Chuck and Blair, that was a good and valid point from B.
#2 Chuck’s Mom is Alive!
Or is she? Elizabeth/Evelyn pretty much confused the living daylights out of everyone when she appeared to be Chuck’s mom, then denied it, then admitted it again, then denied it again. On the Bart-heavy episode, Chuck finally decides to visit his father’s grave, but nothing could have prepared him for what he saw: A woman in a babushka, standing over his grave. The shockers? One, said woman recognized Chuck and two, she left a locket containing a photo of Bart’s.

Here’s a real conflict: Blair is convinced that Chuck is not good for her, and Chuck is sure that Blair is the only girl he’d settle for. What does he do? Give her an ultimatum: meet him on top of the Empire State or lose his love forever… or at least until next season.

Hollywood gossip. There’s no escaping it. From online sources such as TMZ.com and perezhilton.com to print magazines such as US Weekly and People Magazine, it’s everywhere these days. People just can’t get enough of Brittany or Lindsay. So what do kids think about all that Hollywood gossip and is it healthy for children to be exposed to it?
While we think that we see more Hollywood gossip today than we have in years past, it’s really just that we are exposed to more because there are more outlets for Hollywood gossip to be spread–traditional network TV, cable channels, weekly magazines, tabloid papers, and on and on. There has always been Hollywood gossip in the press. In “olden days” Hollywood gossip was transmitted via radio and newspapers by reporters such as Army Archard. Kids saw and heard this Hollywood gossip just as they do today. Children heard about the ******* of Marilyn Monroe and the sexual exploits of Fatty Arbuckle. Perhaps they didn’t hear it quite as many times as they do today but they still heard it. No doubt parents in those days raised the same questions as parents today, should I shield my child from hearing about this.
The fact of the matter is, unless you disconnect the cable, shut down the Internet, or stop walking past magazines in the grocery store, your children are going to be seeing and hearing Hollywood gossip about the exploits of the rich and “infamous.”
So what should you do about the Hollywood gossip your kids are exposed to? Most experts would likely agree that you can not prevent your children from being exposed to Hollywood gossip. What you can do, however, is talk with them about what they see. In other words, use the Hollywood gossip for teaching moments.
Does that sound far fetched to you? Well think about it. Not too long ago the Hollywood gossip wire was full of information about Jamie Lynn Spears and her out of wedlock pregnancy. What a great time to talk with your pre-teen daughter about the dangers out there. Or how about the Hollywood gossip that was generated when Shia LaBeouf had a dangerous accident that injured his hand? That could have presented the perfect opportunity to raise the issue of drinking and driving. The list could go on and on. So it’s really all about how you use the Hollywood gossip information that is out there. Who knows, perhaps exposing your children to Hollywood gossip could be a good thing.

Episode 13 is called “A Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate”– a thin blue line, that is… like the kind you hope not to see on a teenage pregnancy test. And this particular pregnancy test causes scandal after scandal.
First it’s Serena, caught buying the test and reported by none other than Gossip Girl herself. Dan finds out in about two milliseconds and promises to do the right thing. I knew he was a sweetie pie. He’s a keeper, Serena.
But Serena bought the test is for Blair, who, being the spoiled princess she is, refuses to take it. Because if Miss Princess doesn’t want to be pregnant, then she’s not pregnant. Serena, well-intentioned as she is, can’t seem to mind her own business in the episode; she goes to Chuck to talk about Blair’s potential pregnancy. Chuck says it’s not his.
And Blair eventually gives in and takes the test. Crying, happy, she calls Serena to tell her that the test came out negative. She thinks that’s the end of it, but those of us who have been watching Gossip Girl TV know that it’s not. This kind of gossip doesn’t just die in the rich kid set.
Sure enough, Blair has to **** Chuck off (she’s very good at this) and he rats her out to Gossip Girl. In true Gossip Girl fashion, the whole school knows in just about three seconds (and you thought you liked cell phones!), and poor Blair is ostracized faster than you can say “teenage mom.” Seeing how quick her friends turn on her almost makes me glad I’m not rich. Almost.
The Queen Bee has been kicked off her throne.
Of course some other things happen in this episode, too. Dan tells Serena he loves her, and Serena has to deal with her emotional issues before she has the guts to tell him she loves him, too. But we know they love each other, as they’re constantly (and sometimes sickeningly) lovey-dovey, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
The big surprises fall elsewhere in the Humphrey family. Jenny’s turning almost as evil as Blair, ratting her affair with Chuck out to Nate. And it looks like she’s gonna be the new Queen Bee. And Rufus is getting popular with the ladies: two dates on one night, and a near-catfight. Good for you, Rufus!

Moon River is one of the most memorable songs from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and it is fitting that the Blair’s own Breakfast scene opened with the tunes from Moon River. In fact, all the songs paired to Blair’s scenes are right on. Other songs and groups featured on Gossip Girl in this episode that you should look out for are; Rippin’ Up The Disco by Kylie Minogue, Drive Me Crazy by Miss Eighty 6 and finally On the Run by Classic.
Rippin Up The Disco tears out as Blair heads to the bar at Butter thinking very well of herself and how she has handled her friends and the whole Jenny issue. Drive Me Crazy also plays on as Blair dines by herself at Butter, and finally On The Run begins as Blair waits for the rest of the girls to join her at the restaurant.
Another song that has been getting a lot of buzz is Sour Cherry by the Kills which played as Nate helped Jenny make her way coolly back into the beehive. The snappishly instigating song continued to play as Serena made her way over to Chuck’s place to apologize and reveal that Georgina was back in town. Earlier in the episode Backseat Taxi by Silvermoney plays in the background as Rufus calls Jenny while she is busying making birthday plans with her friends and wanders into Hazel’s mom’s closet.
Two songs that played early in the episode and deserve a mention are tunes by The Teenagers and The Deadly Syndrome. As Dan and Serena make out in her bedroom, Chuck lets himself in and invites Dan to stay for the tasting session. Feeling Better by The Teenagers comes on in the background to accompany Chuck’s invitation. Before that, the monotone sounds of indie group Deadly Syndrome bust out as Rufus and Dan try to figure out Jenny’s schedule.

Celebs use these celeb gossip sites often to promote themselves and their work. Some of them are just media junkies, vying to be in the pages of entertainment news. They like to be talked about all the time. And being lovers of paparazzi scoops, you must not discard the idea that many of these scoops are actually staged by the celebs themselves! It’s a part of showbiz and there are no questions asked.
The popularity of celebrity gossip sites and portals make the celebrities look at these with sufficient interest. They feel that the celeb gossip pages could be great vehicles to connect with their fans and also get their message heard without spending a cent on PR efforts. Entertainment news pages can be wonderful ways in which they can reach out to broader sections of the people and get them to talk about what’s going on behind the scenes. As they say, any publicity is good publicity.

Generally speaking, the cost of production is recovered in the first weekend itself for big films. Then you know that Hollywood rumors have done their job!

The most recent example of such a cause is the ‘Hope for Haiti’ relief work. These sorts of efforts complete the cycle, where celebs are able to give back to the fans what they gave the celebrities: love and support.

With great power comes great responsibilities! Remember that Spiderman quote? We do, but it seems that those celebs who hog the pages of the celebrity gossip sites are forgetting it. Celebrities hold sway over a million hearts. They are adorning the pages of celeb gossip publications and online portals because they have achieved something, even if it is preposterous or outrageous. Being celebrities, it naturally draws that they have influence over people. Don’t you think it’s time that they become mouthpieces for a cause and make the world a better place through the medium of entertainment news?
Celebrity gossip sites and publications are popular. They reach out to millions of people all over the world. When celebrities speak for a cause, that message goes out to many of their fans through the celeb gossip sites. That helps, because money is not the only factor when humanity is in trouble. We also need active participation and we need a voice that will speak and lead. That is where celebrities can come in. They can use their power and influence to move people to act. They can urge them to support a cause with dedication and hard work. Mobilizing public opinion is not always easy and celebrities can do that through entertainment sites.
The coming of celebrity gossip portals has benefited social issues. Take for example the relief work at Haiti. The term ‘media whore’ is now widely used in celebrity gossip circles. Though it may come across as something derogatory if you go by the literary meaning of the term, the same cannot be said if you take it as a modern idiom. It refers to celebrities who always court celeb gossip reporters to get themselves into the focus. They deliberately make off-color comments to create a controversy in the pages of entertainment news. This category of celebrities, mostly ex reality show stars or mainstream celebrities past their primes, manage to grab headlines not just by making statements which are bizarre and fictional. They sometimes get into relationships with bona fide celebrities to bask in the sunlight of short-lived fame.
Kiss and tell stories are ones where the partner of a celebrity sells out the details of a relationship to celebrity gossip sites. The sellout may include leaking voicemail messages or text messages, emails and other personal correspondence as proof to the celeb gossip sites. The entertainment news sections thrive on such stories and they offer a ton of money to the ex-partner who decides to divulge the details. In the lure of big money, the kiss and tell story may be distorted or fabricated to a great extent.
Kiss and tell stories work well with the readers of celebrity gossip sites because they reveal the inside details. The details of the relationship that come out in such stories are intimate, fairly accurate and very intensely personal. Wouldn’t you like to read what Tiger Woods texts to his mistress? There is a certain pull about these stories on the celeb gossip sites. The editors of entertainment sites know this and that is the reason they pay millions of dollars to the person who’s willing to do a tell-all exclusive with the paparazzi portal.
Kiss and tell stories can be evaluated on ethical grounds. Many do not see persons who reveal all to a celebrity gossip column in a favorable light. But you cannot possibly stop the media ****** from going to the celeb gossip sites because for many of them, they got into a relationship with a rich and famous person so that they can bargain their story with an entertainment news site or publication. It’s just a business proposition for many of them. You cannot rule out the honest ones altogether. These are partners who were actually wronged by their more famous half. When they talk about their story to the media, it’s like a justice call for them. You cannot blame them for sensationalism.
You may raise the ethical question while talking about these celebrities. But you cannot possibly ignore the effectiveness of kiss and tell stories. They sell well and a good expose can shoot a celeb gossip site’s popularity through the roof. That is why entertainment news bosses are willing to pay that much of money for a kiss and tell story. As for the person who bears the brunt of it, all I can say is that it is a thankless position to be in!

Searching and finding more informative celebrity gossip could also be helpful, this will arm you and guide you in case a conversation or topic is discussed between the group of friends or even in a party. This way you will not be left alone with the group conversation, contributing of what you know and what you read will make them feel you belong to the group. But it does necessarily mean addiction to a celebrity gossip. Put some limitation on where to discuss about it, gauge the crowd or a group if they are comfortable to initiate the topic for conversation about the celebrity gossip.
If given a chance or opportunity to have a conversation with this topic, you have edge to express or to share what you read and what you know. When the topic about the celebrity gossip is getting hot and someone is very aggressive and pushing it hard to make everyone believe on him, then that’s the time you should slow down and just listen. That way you’re getting away from trouble. On the other hand, before engaging to conversation of celebrity gossip, make sure that your information is somehow true and correct.
Make suggestion or give an opinion to the issue or the topic of discussion, but always clear in the end that your statement is merely your own point of view. The best place and person to have a harmonious discussion of celebrity gossip is your family and close friends with the same interest, with them it is safe to give your own statement or opinion. In a massive act of desperation, Blair seeks out The Masters of the Universe Society, thinking she’ll find some elite group of aspiring financiers. Too bad it’s the group she snubbed from Georgina’s party-a cartoon club! Fate gives her a break (or a frantic text) and lets her relive her Constance glory days by hosting the annual Waldorf sleepover.
While Blair is still struggling to find her place at NYU, Jenny is preparing for her first day as Queen Bee at Constance. Little J’s hopes of a democracy are overruled when Blair interferes, and color me not surprised when she caves under the pressure. Who better to help Jenny take back her reign than Chuck? The Gossip Girl music choice for this hostile takeover maneuver at the “Fleur” movie premiere: Far East Movement’s “Dance Like Michael Jackson”.
The Chuck/Jenny stratagem happens at the premiere where Serena (still not going to Brown but finally told a newly returned Lily) is working for Ursulla (Tyra Banks) as her bff/babysitter/publicist.
What about Dan? Dan is at the premiere with Vanessa, who is still uselessly pining away for Scott. She scores an invite from her celeb roomie, Olivia Burke (Hilary Duff) who is also Dan’s new crush. He knows her has Kate, the ordinary girl that paid for his coffee at the beginning of the show.
Now for the reason many of us watch Gossip Girl religiously-the music! Featured Gossip Girl songs I haven’t already mentioned: Almost Charlie’s “Staying is Hard”, The Starlight Mints’ “Black Champagne”, Art Brut’s “Summer Job”, All Wrong and the Plans Change’s “I Get Down”, and Passion Pit’s “Moth’s Wings”.
