As I get older and more mature (I am 23) I am trying to develop a part of my personality. I **** gossip and has only lead to trouble with me. The problem with being in a healthcare and female dominated career is that women gossip constantly. I am trying to only listen to people and friends and not say anything back that leads to gossiping. So when my friends and coworkers gossip, how does one stay neutral without stunting relationships with people?

I learned that every time you learn something you get a new wrinkle in your brain. If you didn’t know that, you just got a wrinkle in your brain. That’s why babies brains, when they are first born, their brains are smooth. Well, I was wondering if you learned new gossip about someone or something that’s not educational do you get wrinkles also? What about if you hear some lies that are educational or not?

For instance, lets say Jane lied about being struck at work, saying Nancy threw something at her, and because she lied about it Nancy, an innocent person got wrote up, if that person began telling everyone what Jane did, would it be considered gossip even though she was telling the truth? Define what gossip is in your opinion.
I agree Anaise, but how do you know whether someone is gossiping or spreading facts if you were not involved first hand? Is this when you determine who is gossiping and who is not based upon your personal preference?

I’m really confused in the difference between venting to your friends and confidants about events and people and gossip. Aren’t they somewhat the same? When can this be considered negative?
